These men and women put in countless hours to edit, format, and publicize The Globe print edition, and The Compass digital edition. We strive to publish a journal that highlights the exceptional international affairs focused academic writing of The George Washington University.

  • Dan Bernstein

    Editor-In-Chief

    Dan is a senior in the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Chemistry, with minors in Arabic and Biology. Dan joined The Globe during his freshman year, first serving as an associate editor for print before pioneering the publication’s blog, now known as The Compass. Outside of The Globe, Dan has studied abroad in Morocco and Ireland, and currently conducts research related to drug development at Georgetown University.

  • Tom Malik

    Director of Formatting
    Tom is from Sayreville, New Jersey, and is majoring in psychology. Most of his time is either spent reading or exploring. He is fascinated by neuroscience and mental health, and intends to get his PhD in clinical psychology. Most of his graphic design background focuses around the health literacy field. Tom also designed the logo for his high school.
  • Ishan Sawai

    Director of Online Content

    Ishan Sawai is a sophomore from Boston, Massachusetts, double-majoring in International Affairs and Economics with a concentration in International Economics. This is his second year on the Globe. Ishan is also staffs each of GW’s Model UN Conferences, WAMUNC for high school students and GWCIA for middle school students. In his spare time, Ishan enjoys hiking.

  • Ambika Nair

    Director of Publicity & Development

    Ambika is a sophomore in the Elliott School majoring in International Affairs and Economics. She has been involved with the Globe since her freshman year when she was part of the Publicity and Development Team. She now serves as the Director of Publicity and coordinates all of the Globe’s outreach efforts. Ambika is very interested in trade policy and microfinance.

  • Joe DePumpo

    Web Developer, Social Media Manager & Compass Staff Writer

    Hailing from Texas, Joe is a freshman in the Elliott School majoring in International Affairs. He came to The Globe with a background in web design and web management. When he’s not begging people for follows and likes on The Globe’s Twitter and Facebook pages, Joe is pursuing his interest in the politics of Southeast Asia, finding new food to try, or wandering the streets of DC with his friends.

  • Jack Skopowski

    Associate Editor, The Compass

    A native of Virginia, Jack is currently a freshman in the Elliott School majoring in International Affairs. Before coming to GW, he was fortunate to have great experiences interning for Senator Tim Kaine and working on a local political campaign. Jack‘s interests include security policy, military history, and political economy. When he is not working on The Globe, you can find him getting involved with Model UN or volunteering with GW’s Humanitarian Mapping Society.

  • Bob Letters

    Publicity & Development

    Bob is a freshman in the Elliott School. He is studying International Affairs, and hopes to concentrate in Security Policy. Bob has a special interest in US-Russian affairs, and spent the summer of 2015 in Moscow studying Russian language and culture. In his free time, Bob enjoys jogging, bad horror movies and petting dogs.
